See Jane Give is a new initiative to increase charitable giving in Greater Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky. Launched by a partnership of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, SOAR, a professional development program for high potential young women, and WCPO, this effort encourages graduates of SOAR to leverage seed money from Toyota into larger donations for nonprofit organizations. Organizers have partnered with GCF to establish the See Jane Give Fund.
Inspired by Oprah Winfrey’s history of motivating people to “give back” and "give big" to their communities, See Jane Give was developed to help a group of professional young women make a meaningful difference in our community. The initiative began at a March 14 SOAR breakfast graduation ceremony with a cash award of $6,400 from Toyota - $400 for each of the 16 graduates.
Who Benefits? Within a week, the group selected Dress for Success as the recipient of the first annual See Jane Give award. (Donations can only be used to support established 501c3 organizations.) The task now is to organize a creative six-week community fund-raising campaign to grow their seed money into a significant donation.
